Bridges on the Park
Bridges on the Park is like a posh ocean liner parked in the harbor of Lake Lady Bird and the Pfluger pedestrian and bike bridge. It seems a world away from bustling Lamar Boulevard. Bridges is located in proximity to Austin’s top leisure pleasures: The Hike & Bike Trail, Barton Springs Pool, Zilker Park, Downtown, The Long Center, Austin Lyric Opera and SoCo—all are within jogging distance.
The sophisticated lobby sets the tone. A huge polished onyx slab of timeless geology is a striking focal point. The quietude of the Bridges, pool and community areas reflect the same (and even improved) philosophy of the folks who created Austin City Lofts. Outdoor dining and other common areas beckon residents to fully enjoy all the thoughtfully planned amenities. It’s just the right blend of public and private.
Upstairs, generous hallways with polished gray cement lead to well appointed interiors. The underlying engineering of Bridges on the Park blocks traffic and neighbor noise. The ceiling and cabinet heights, closet space, tall windows and finish-out match the quality of the entire building.
In general, I prefer mid-rise condos, as Bridges is, to high rises. They are more human scaled and seem to fit Austin better than the super-tall spires. Save the long elevator rides for New Yorkers!
Bridges offers casual luxury, Austin style. It’s a well-conceived community. This ship is yar!
